even if they didn’t get a bite, they still spent quality time together

Everyone knows that a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work! ;^)

To ruin an old saying, it can be argued that “a fishing trip is a good nap, spoiled”.D

Are fish sentient in the Pluggerverse? Are there fish Pluggers? Are Gramps and his grandson there the plugger equivalent of (failed) serial killers?

    So many questions.

I thoughts the bear guys and the cat guys would enjoy the fishing more than the doggie guys.

When I was about 5 my Grandpa took me fishing at the pond in the local cemetery. (t was where we always tossed stale bread to the fish.) Man, were they biting! Never, ever, saw anyone else fish in that pond. (I think he made special arrangements with the maintenance/grounds crew.)

Hmmmm…I read somewhere, that fishing is a sport with a jerk on one end of the line, waiting for a jerk on the other end. Hubs family, who went up into Minnesota for two weeks of Rainy Lake fishing evety summer, howled with glee when I told them that one.

The same applies to hunting – pheasants, ducks, deer, etc.

The only grandfather I had that might have taken me fishing, died when I was 10. He lived in Wisconsin, my family lived in Texas. I used to go fishing with my dad, until the one time I caught more than he did. Never went fishing again. My family used to go target shooting as well – until my mom outshot my father. We never went shooting again. See a theme here? Had to wait to get married before I had a shooting partner that didn’t mind that I was a better shot than he was. He was actually proud of it and boasted about me to his friends. :o)

Many men go fishing all of their lives without really realizing that it’s not the fish they’re after.
