Shortly thereafter, retaliatory Russian nukes ruined everyone’s day in the quiet, seaside village.

I can still smell the wonderful odor of sharpened pencils, and taste library paste, and hear the end-of-class bell. Those things are imprinted forever, at least for me. Good memories.

Love the way the words and balloon wrap around the pencil in embraceable hug.

This isn’t good – no mother around to admonish them NOT to run with that thing!

That was my first thought. Should have gotten the giant crayon, instead. :)

Amelia would do anything to get that giant sharpened novelty pencil away from Spud.

Don’t try to sharpen it a second time, Spud. Those things usually have a super short lead. (Love the italic gasp and the word balloon tail wrapping around the pencil, btw )

This bliss surely won’t last long—but you’ll always have the memory to cherish, Spud.
