It might be just a tad bit noisy. But hey, a ladder and hook on a rope and you get free rides to wherever. If you are good with Airline schedules you might even go where you want to.
Hi Bleeb, I know the people are kind of crazy here, but you should be used to it by now.
I love people who move next to airports or golf courses and then go ballistic over the noise and golf balls. Then they try to get them shut down even though they were there prior to the development.
I grew up 3 blocks from the end of a runway at a less busy municipal airport. Dad said when he bought the house in 1955 that they will never have jets at this airport. That lasted about 3 years.
I used to live there: Flushing, Queens. Between JFK and Laguardia airports. Planes passing overhead every three minutes and pellet-like soot from dumped fuel on everything. Wonderful for TV reception, too.
Years ago I lived in a tiny apartment near an airport. The distance from my couch to the TV was maybe 5 feet, tops, but when the airplanes flew over I could not hear the TV, even turned up.
When I was in the Navy, the building that housed my air control squadron was directly across the street from the end of the runway at the Norfolk airport, and we had airliners going over us at extremely low altitude on a regular basis. Made holding meetings quite interesting.
My Aunt’s house was in the flight path (departing) of the airport, with jets coming & going at all hours. She said she got used to it, and could sleep through the noise!!

Lived and worked near LAX for years. When I could I would drive out as far away and as quiet as possible.

I grew up with the county airport about 3 miles on one side and a major SAC (B-52s) base 5 miles on the other. I miss the noise.

I remember when I was a teen, riding past the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, seeing tire tracks on roofs of houses on the approach…
