Time to move to a condo … or get a gardener.

Well, wear a mask, or not, take a chance and go on a road trip to the beach.

Not sure why the attitude. She does not HAVE to do this if she does not want to do it. Or, is Arlo Supposed to be “helping” with the task?

It looks like Janis has a recurring problem with her left arm.

As Janis said yesterday. ‘I didn’t get vaccinated twice for this!’

I think she is fed up with being cooped up. It’s not about gardening at all.

If it doesn’t give you joy, don’t do it. But don’t ruin another person’s happiness with your infantile rages. Grow up. (Apparently this struck a personal chord for me which explains why I stay away from the house when my S.O. cleans)

Methinks someone really needs some TLC. Eh, Arlo?

I had this problem . . . schlepping water to my tomatoes or pulling a hose . . . 200 + feet! Finally, in my dotage, I had an underground water line installed. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Janis – ever heard of a garden hose???

Yesterday she was tired of digging in the mud, something she could do whether vaccinated or not. She wants to do something she hasn’t been able to do for the past year or more. Today the rebellion against the routine continues. She doesn’t want Arlo to help in the garden. That has nothing to do with vaccination. His intuition is telling him to prepare for dinners out, going to the movies and travel.

Just a panic induced response when she saw a snake in the flower bed.

His feet are temporarily missing, so he probably can’t help her!

Arlo, like most husbands, is supposed to be able to read Janis’ mind. What he’s doing in the last panel is quickly going through the list of possible causes, and then choosing the most likely, all at the speed of brain. And he’d better get it right, or else it gets worse.

Arlo might have his reasons for sitting there while Janis does all the work. In one strip years ago, Jimmy showed Janis as one of those wives who feels that she must always be working and in motion, even if everything is done.

Also, she might one of those who complains about everything her husband does, even if it is perfect.

His masculine intuition probably thinks it needs inspiration from a beer.

Normally she loves gardening. Maybe she just needs a new hobby.

Considering recent behavior. she may soon be having hot flashes.

Sorry, she does have to do it if the plants are wilting.

Having recently lived this, my intuition would be to hook up the hose I took off the outside faucet to keep it from freezing last winter.

Time to be inspired to head to the hardware store and wander around there for awhile.

Time to get out of the garden. You didn’t get two shots to stay inside the walls of your garden. Besides, just let the grass grow and enjoy the birds and insects and life suddenly swirling around in your garden. It’s easier work, and you get visitors. We now have hedgehogs grunting their way through the tall grass every evening.

RUN, HIDE, WHIMPER QUIETLY!

Hook up a hose. No reason to carry a watering can around unless you want the exercise.
