Abner is a little late with his hypothesis that Tracy will be there on opening night with Charlie, because they’ll have already seen the dress rehearsal by then. Is this another fail?
I can’t wait to see Abner’s abject heartbreak when he finds out he missed Charlie’s “premiere”. If Rikki actually plans to be in the theatre she will need something different than her usual duds. Will Ab try sneaking in the back way, which should be easy access given Patterson’s open doors to criminals policy ?
Maybe meant Tracy will come to dress rehearsal to make PLANS for opening night? Which would be right up there with Lincoln’sOr are we about to be treated to a weeks worth of them waiting during the play for nothing?Abner is assuming Tracy is pretty darn stupid right here…
Too bad Abner’s internet was down, he could have broken the fourth wall, and read yesterday’s GoComics to see that Tracy is taking Chuck to the dress rehearsal on Thursday
While I think the theory by artsyguy65 in Neil Wick‘s thread is dead on I’m a little confused by Abner’s opening words, “Rikki, I need your assistance!” And he then says Tracy will be there opening night… Never mind how he knows that. Maybe he reads this comic strip. But he doesn’t ask her to assist him in any way. However, she responds that she needs a new dress. Why? Maybe he wants her to kill the giant spider hiding in the sewer system since the Yeti arc (he’d know that if he reads the strip) to make it easier for Abner to get into the theater (since all buildings in Tracyville have an opening to the sewer system larger enough for someone to use as an entrance). Shouldn’t he explain what he wants her to do before she heads out for the dress?
I’d like to express my appreciation to all who missed me during the 3 days I was stuck in Atlanta traffic (well, it felt like 3 days). What? No one noticed? Dam. That’s almost as bad as returning to see that Vitamin is once again being featured! That’s almost as bad as finding that some of the same readers who “Liked” my Mormon comment agreed with the guy who thought I was condemning an entire religion! (FICKLE!) That’s almost as bad as that hero featured in Sunday’s strip only to have his face covered! Poor guy. His one shot at fame. Anywho…
1-A.B.: Where were we?
2-RIKKI T.T.: WELL, that scenery chewer, Sugar Daddy, somehow got the money together to put on a play no one wants to see- starring himself of course. AND given that he lets the tightwad Tracy in for free on opening night which, not coincidentally, is also closing night, Tracy is guaranteed to be there so…
3-A.B.: Charlie will be unguarded! RIKKI: No…
A.B.: Charlie will be there too so we just have to figure out how to find them in the crowd, blow dart them and escape in the melee!
RIKKI: So close! No one else will be there so we just blow dart anyone in the audience and Tracy and Charlie’s tickets will be punched!
By the way, seeing the theatre message had me thinking. We have heard a lot of places in “Tracytown” mentioned over the past few years. Has anyone ever tried to combine them all and “lay out” on paper what the town could look like?
Seems like these folks commentating don’t know this is a friggin’ cartoon, which doesn’t really have to make sense. I mean the writers don’t seem to care
What sort of tickets will Abner and Rikki have? Probably general admission. Unless they have opera glasses or binoculars, their view of the action on stage will be limited.
Yes and No day. Abner’s idea is not so bad—except that it seems Tracy and Charlie willl attend a closed dress rehearsal rather than the Friday opening night; so, no. Rikki could definitely use a new dress, yes; but it appears it won’t be needed at opening night of The Tempest, since Tracy and his entourage will, it now seems, not be there….

Looks like Vincent Price in panel two. Which if it were would give this silly plot some much needed gravitas.

I was just thinking. What is Charlie is just a plant to lure Tracy to his doom. We’ll know, if Abner & Rikki show up for the dress rehearsal!

Uh-oh. If Tracy doesn’t show with Charlie, will Abner grab Vitamin for a swap?

Rikki is so in love with him, what does she see in him? I cannot imagine a romantic moment between the two.
