Oldies are songs my wife and I both enjoyed listening to when we were dating. Moldies are the songs she can no longer stand to listen to because it brings back memories of when we were dating and I’ve changed.

Oldies – that song is way beyond an oldie.

Did you ever notice that there is no new music in the future?

Watch any sci-fi movie. No matter how far in the future it is, they still play Earth music from our past.

It seems like oldies are newies to people that sell cars too.

Any song you hear for the first time is new to you, no matter how long the song has existed.

If you want a hoot, search Youtube for “reaction to” and add your favorite old band. The best are 21 year old Black kids seeing a Bee-Gee’s video for the first time and realizing that the black women they thought were singing in all the brother movies are really white men, one of whom looks like WASP Jesus. Or discovering that Whitney Houston didn’t do the first I Will Always Love You. Kids reacting to old technology is also good. Rotary phones? VCR? Too much work.

Beatles are timeless. The music is still so fresh. My young grandkids love it. And it’s almost 60 years old! I daresay nobody in 1964 was listening to music from the 1910s!

Very true Thorny, I have met quite a few young people who really enjoy 70s “Classic Rock”

I love a lot of the oldies, but also love the really, really old oldies from Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, etc. Now those are truly timeless.

I’m 73 and the Beatles and Oldies are my preferred music choice, but the grocery store I go to and a lot of other places have oldies on their loudspeakers.

We used to eat a lot at a buffet that has now been gone for years. I used to listen to the music they played and try to name the song and singer. I could do it for many of them.

I just noticed this morning that Wilberforce has some pretty nice moves. Maybe he is only 50% born loser.
