Whatever this says about Rita, it think it says about the rest of us, too. When we’re pre-teens, we dream about being adults. When we’re adults, we dream about those carefree days of childhood. And when we’re little kids, we dream of being superheroes. Right now, I’m dreaming of being asleep.
How does the magic water bottle work? Does she splash the criminal? Or does she have to pour the water down the criminal’s throat to get them to tell the truth?
I’m getting a kind of sadness (existential crisis looming?) from this… the “poofed” back to childhood Rita, wanting to be back to old Adult self – but her Adult Self wasn’t all that happy either. Maybe the discovery that the path she thought would take her to being “Wonder Rita” wasn’t the right one that would get her there (maybe she never questioned the path she was on.) queue up Talking Heads “Once in a Lifetime”.
