Pig presents an issue that may stop Rat from monetizing his site. On the other hand, Rat may be willing to go beyond the readily available information.
There was once an SCTV sketch in which John Candy played a private detective in a small town where everyone already knew everything about everyone else. Today it seems like a premonition.
As a kid, I loved ‘The Rockford Files.’ Jim had a small mechanical printer in the trunk of his car. He’d use it to make phony business cards to help him scam info out of people.
A decade ago, on the TV series “Person of Interest” the tech billionnaire (who never revealed his true identity in the series) said he’d invented social media in the wake of 9/11 to help out the CIA and NSA. He realized most people will happily spy on themselves and self report their activities if given the opportunity.
It was a dreary day. I was counting passing cars through the rain streaked window when I heard my door creak open. A customer? He was a roly poly fellow…pink…sticks for legs. I sighed…that type always means trouble.
There was a day when one could ask the internet for John Smith’s phone number of North Cornwall, Indiana and GET the dam thing for free. Now, the same question gets 16 different websites willing to sell you everything about the poor bastid and his mortal sins, how much he owes in taxes and worse, all for a MasterCharge of $79.95 that takes 3 months to dislodge..What’s missing? The current phone number, of course….Sheeesh !
My Bride and I were talking about getting a Screen Door to take advantage of our Delta Breeze. Well 15 min. later I have Screen Door Ads all over Facebook. I wonder how that happened ? NOT

Might as well shift to the dark web. You can probably hire(/get scammed) some stalkers over there.

Facebook is not free. It’s just a different business model where you pay with privacy/information.
