If she manages that, then she’s a better teacher than most. I quit doing tech support when I got to where I knew what the problem was before they finished describing it: “Almost ALWAYS the same thing again.” Move into coding because at least that way there WAS a new challenge with each project.
She’s right. Maybe I used the same texts, even tried similar assignments each year, but with 150 new faces ,attitudes, personalities, and backgrounds it was never the same. Which kept me at for forty years. Each year was going to be the perfect," got it all right year".
As the last in a line of four brothers attending the same high school, each teacher’s first impression of me, upon hearing my last name, was dependent on which of my three brothers they remembered: the first was an honor student, the second was a jock and the third was a wise-ass. So, I was asked, depending on which brother each remembered most, about making the honor roll, which sport I specialized in, or “how about sitting up here by me?” But then I went to Latin class and the ancient teacher (who Mrs. Olsen reminds me of), “are you my friend Pete’s son?” Yeah, she was old. Thanks for the memories, Jef. LOL

She is right. There’s never been somebody like Caulfield and there probably never will be again.

Most teachers get different students every year, which makes that a more believable statement.

Caulfield never gets that Mrs. Olsen is always ahead of him, and not just in age and experience.

Guess that if it were turned in on time, Mrs. Olsen would be suspicious.
