The fact that so many of European descent are quick to explain the great architecture of non-white ancient empires as saying they “must have come from ancient aliens” is clearly a racist trope admitting that they refuse to give credit for the achievements of ancient civilizations if they weren’t white.
Watch Ancient Aliens there are some pretty convincing theory’s on that show and also look at some of the art from early in history depictions of flying crafts shaped like some of the UFOs ive seen in UFO hunter video footage.
In case anyone’s wondering about that “CE” in the date, it stands for “common era”. It’s the newer, non-religious replacement for “AD” (anno domini — the year of the lord). In parallel, “BCE” is “before the common era”, the culturally neutral version of “BC” (before Christ).
Neither of these fits neatly on a number line, because the calendar was adopted well before Western “civilization” became aware of the possibility of the number zero. (In fact, when it was first introduced, it was suspected to be a Satanic plot, because it represented nothingness or the void. Fortunately, it proved to be too useful for that kind of superstition to stand in the way of its wide adoption.)

I like the rabbit in the moon. Must have been a Mayan version of the Man in the Moon!

Did the Mayans have cows? I thought bovines and equines were European imports. Late comers, so to speak.

And this is where that racism comes in as if they can’t do something themselves. I really don’t like that perception of it.
