Most of Merala’s spearmen were moonlighting. They were just paid extras. Their main gig was working in the Keystone Cops franchise, on the other side of the studio backlot. Which goes a long ways towards explaining all the finger pointing and milling about in general confusion.

“Quickly,” the leader of the spearmen said, “Everything is on sale! Make your purchase and move on!”
