I used Calvin’s tactic of threatening to slam a door down on the hood of a car when two men tried to rob the gas station I was working at while in college. It was late at night, I was alone, the station was right off the main highway, and I was closing. They managed to get the front of their car into the service bay but could not drive all the way in. I stood my ground and told them if they didn’t back out I’d slam the overhead door down onto the hood. I don’t know if I was being brave or stupid, but they backed out and left.

So many life lessons and so little time to learn them.

Dad must be proud, “My son the natural born entrepreneur. He is going to make it big in the future.”

Should have offered him to wash the car for 50 cents instead, but that would go against Calvin’s thought process.

The garage door at my home in those days closed too slowly for that the be much of a threat.

With the Open-road tolls on the Illinois Tollway you can pay missed tolls online within 7 days. Presumably the full toll plus a service charge.

I don’t know what the fine is if you don’t pay within the allowed time.

Calvin, wait until your a teenager to destroy the family car, like everyone else.

Hobbs hasn’t been around all week. I miss the rascal.
