Once upon a time, the DC comic “Justice League” was undergoing one of its periodic membership shakeups/rebrands. One hero after another was quitting the group. Among the small handful remaining were the best friends Fire and Ice.
I sent a letter to the editor pointing out that if everyone quit except Ice, they could rename the comic The Just Ice League.
Yeah, they apparently thought it was a pretty lame joke too.
All second best when compared to Chick Webb. After Chick died his band was renamed Ella and Her Famous Orchestra with Fitzgerald taking on the role of bandleader. She recorded nearly 150 songs with Webb’s orchestra between 1935 and 1942. In addition to her work with Webb, Fitzgerald performed and recorded with the Benny Goodman Orchestra. She had her own side project, too, known as Ella Fitzgerald and Her Savoy Eight. She was in her early 20s when Webb died.
The one person band is a long standing tradition. My personal favorite is Rahsaan Roland Kirk but there have been others who played music that you could listen to with your eyes closed and not realize it was only one person.

Seems like Ginger Baker would have actually done this.

He certainly cannot call himself a one man band. He’s not playing more instruments.

Nothing like fun. Better therapy than burning, looting or any degree of assault.
