“The cafeteria is amazing!” Hmm. If you haven’t eaten lunch in the cafeteria yet, then it makes me wonder what about that cafeteria would be amazing to Dawn.
With my family and I living behind my high school Couldn’t wait till I was in high school no more buses and my mom let my brothers and I come home for lunch the school hated it. Oh and sometimes my mom also pick me up to go out to eat too.
Interesting phenomena they have seen in the UK that attendance at boarding schools spiked in the 2000s and 2010s. It has been attributed to what is called the “Harry Potter effect”, where kids have read those books and believe boarding can be a positive experience in their educational development.
Better hit the books, Lizzy. There are only so many good-paying, cushy jobs out there, and they go to whomever has the highest grades. Every other kid at school is your enemy.
I’ve never known what it was like to go to a new school. When I was Elizabeth’s age we moved and my school was 45 years old, though most of my classes were in a newer section which STILL didn’t have air conditioning. Cafeteria and gym were in the original building.
I recently bought a used car, from a young man in the near-by suburb, that I’d gone to school in, when we were near the school, I mentioned In hadn’t seen it for a long time, and that we had only moved to the (then )new high school building in the last half of our senior year. He laughed and said he too had graduated from that school…and he too had gone to the NEW"new" in his senior year.
Our C-17 broke at Al Asad AB in Iraq in 2008. We had to spend the night and went the chow hall for dinner. It was huge (like a Walmart) with five serving lines with a different entree/theme at each (i.e. steak, seafood, etc). I’ve never seen any thing like it.

I don’t think it will take that long. It’s not the High School, as a rule. It’s the upper classmen(until you are one).

The main thing I hated about school was the hours.
