If the “Mac” comic was a Chick tract, Mac would be spilling seed instead of selling seed. Wackiness would ensue involving obligatory references to Genesis (chapter 38), and I’m sure that Leviticus would be fingered… umm, named as well.
BTW, Not the Bible by Tony Hendra (RIP) and Sean Kelly has always been a wonderfully irreverent read for a lapsed Catholic like me!
Thanks to all of the lessons, I have been drawing Doug for some time now. Next I would like to learn how to draw a whole complete Super-Fun-Pak Comix. Seriously Ruben, how long does it take?
Souls or not, if every human being converted to vegetarianism the world would still be full of animals eating other animals. You are free to believe that abstaining from meat will save your own soul, but why would you imagine a dog would likewise benefit?
Brought back memories.. My older brother on his bike, and our dog, gone all day, miles upon miles taking seed orders. Such an entrepreneur at such a young age! Makes me wonder what it was that turned him into such a narcissistic scammer in his later years. Such a waste of what had showed great potential… ☹

Oh, I have no trouble accepting that animals have souls. But soul or no, some of them are so darned yummy!

Vegetarians think that people who sell meat are gross.
I think that people who sell fruit and vegetables are grocer.

How about selling a newspaper that no one ever read that I know of. Did anyone ever sell or read GRIT?

How old do you have to be to remember those Charles Atlas and the seed selling ads in comic books? (Full disclosure: I do.)

Having a dog has convinced me that animals have souls. So after I’ve finished eating this one, I’m going to have another.

Why is my photo and my address in the seed advertisement?

If the author really has explained consciousness he’ll know exactly why his brain is secreting or not secreting chemicals.

I never thought to ask my vegan niece what she feeds her dog. Maybe her husband feeds him.

Probably not a lot of vegetarian dogs out there. Or cats.
