I saw 3 little Cactus Wrens all taking baths together in my bird bath. First time I’ve seen that!

My Oliver hasn’t discovered sunbeams yet, but he has discovered how much fun it is to play with my feet!

National Talk In An Elevator Day. I won’t be riding any elevators today and not planning on riding one any time soon.

I’d like to share a sunbeam with them all, including Mimieux. We had quite a lightening storm last night, followed by a little rain. No new fires that I know of.

It’s supposed to be 105 degrees here today. No problem finding sunbeams.

We, too, had a nice storm last night. In addition to the thunder, we had actual rain along with wind. We have a lot of flowers on the oleanders. When the winds are fierce, they all end up on the ground. After the last big wind storm, the trees were bare. It took a couple of weeks for the flowers to appear again.Where were they this morning? Yep, on the ground.

Alpha Cat UpdateWell, he’s still doing his job. This morning a fox wandered in from the woods and was heading for the lone turkey who was smart enough to get out of the pen but not smart enough to stay in it.

Pat was watching from the kitchen door. So was Alpha. He asked for OUT. Alpha was let out.

Here’s a curious thing, Alpha never runs into a fight from the start. He just walks steadily towards the target until he’s close. Just like John Wayne in a movie.

Then he suddenly streaks towards the target.

Fox never knew what hit him. Ten minutes later, Alpha comes jauntily trotting back from the woods, tail held high. Another victory.

I think this should go on a T-shirt or a coffee mug.

Now, if only Trixie from “Hi & Lois” could join them.

Anybody in the Denver area? I’m booking a train trip and need a hotel not far from the train station. Any suggestions?
