I always enjoyed that time with the kids, I would get them to their activities and watch them do their things. Meanwhile I got time with the other child that got dragged along(mine were 5 yrs apart)
Can’t complain about a job you volunteered for. On the bright side.. when you no longer can drive and are confined to a wheelchair.. perhaps.. he might drive you occasionally.. I know it’s a long shot but still.
I once had 2 exchange students from Hungary and spent hours driving them around to activities. Never a thank you or conversation. I felt so used. Previously had a girl from Germany and I cried when she left.
Bet many parents feel like that. If she feels like that now just wait till they get older when it will get worse. Especially if you have more then one child and they are involved in after school activities.

But the kid probably is stashing hugs to pay you later. It’s all good.

I don’t know which is worse: having to drive your kids everywhere, or worrying about them driving themselves.

What would be worse for me is having to be confined to the back seat. I know all the reasons, but I would still hate it.

You will get paid when you get home and the kid looks at you adoringly and says those three magic words… “What’s for dinner?”
