I see it’s a ‘64 today, though the leading end of the left front fender has the point like a ’62. Still resting on the concrete masonry units, and they’re still standing in the weakest orientation. It had never occurred to me that Baldo would not have a fluent and firm grasp of the Spanish language, coming from the family that he does. Is he less that bilingual?
To me, Baldo may as well get rid of that Impala or give it to someone who’s serious about restoring old classic cars! The body is already starting to develop rust spots!

The problem is that the writer thinks this is a good story hook to keep going back to, and they have no intention of Baldo ever finish fixing the car. Which, if that’s the case… is pretty lame. Stop milking this crutch you guys!
As long as he has had that car, mine would’ve been on the road a long time ago. Not because I was any different than Baldo, but my Dad would’ve been actively supervising. Just to get it out of his driveway.
