Stantis, it was NIXON who resigned rather than face certain impeachment and conviction. After Nixon resigned in disgrace, Republicans* were obsessed with impeaching a Democrat. They finally found something with Clinton and Monica — the original witch hunt.

Reagan SHOULD have been impeached and convicted for approval of Iran/Contra, then lying about it. Of course, by that time all Republicans* had sworn allegiance doctrine of It’s OKAY If A Republican* does it.

That doctrine was invoked virtually every day since and especially when Trump was in office.

I have no doubts that should republicans retake the House in the midterms they’ll make an attempt to impeach Biden. For what exactly ? Right now they’re trying to make the pullout from Afghanistan look criminal rather than bungled. When trump made the deal with the Taliban (what was he thinking ?) he painted the United States into a corner and President Biden had to abide by the terms agreed to. I still give credit for getting 123,000 people airlifted to safety. Meanwhile back at home we have to now deal with the American Taliban, MAGA Republicans

Trump was impeached for consorting with foreign powers, and inciting an attack on the United States and her Constitutional system. Not only impeachable offenses, but offenses that REQUIRE impeachment.

A lot of presidents who truly deserved impeachment didn’t even get a slap on the wrist, like Nixon, Reagan, and Bush Jr.

Trump was nowhere near the first president that was the subject of impeachment talks. He’s just the first one who gave them so much REASON for talking about it.

Iseau’s been doing a lot of tap dancing around this grotesque misstatement, so I thought I’d preserve it just to make clear what an unambiguous falsehood it was.

To kip and all your other Band Members I said at least twice my wording was in error something you and the others would never admit to. However the end result I intended to convey was correct “acquitted”! You seem to enjoy this, well so do I! Any one with an open mind and an ounce of sense who reads this exchange will see how utterly devoid of common sense you and the other leftist commentators are.
