I was never a fan of quadruped dress designs where the skirt is draped over all four legs instead of just the back ones. It looks less like a dress and more like a cloak.
Maybe I wouldn’t admit I couldn’t see the clothes. But I would be the one to point out that every stupid person in the kingdom can see the Emperor’s junk.
I dunno, looks to me like that dress would be awfully restrictive of leg movement…more so than a typical dress I would think (not that I have much experience with that sort of thing).
I’m actually surprised that Calvin actually didn’t attempt to do something like that. Though, I wouldn’t be surprised that if he claims to be wearing clothes that can’t be seen by anyone else, no one would believe him.
I don’t get today’s strip. Marigold IS wearing an unattractive paisley shirt in every panel she’s in. Why does the dialog suggest she’s either not wearing anything or wearing a dress?
Sigh… If only others could be as enlightened as me.

What if, someone I know, sees a Hawaiian shirt?

I’m not so sure that appearing in an unattractive shirt is a smart move.

I suspect that Mari was just jealous of that cute dress Phoebe has on.

It was the sellers who said the “clothes” had that property. The emperor went along because he didn’t want to appear unfit to rule.

THAT explains it. I keep telling people that I don’t OWN any unattractive paisley shirts.

This just makes me conscious of the fact that Marigold is always walking around naked.

Never thought I would hear “charming” and “arrogant” put together.

She needs a better stylist. Maybe Rarity from My Little Pony would assist.

so, if my own dress looks like an unattractive paisley shirt… to me?

Boy, that dress looks like something they would’ve worn in Victorian times. UUUUUUGLY! :P
BTW, in The Emperor’s New Clothes, the Emperor walked around buck naked, but nobody wanted to tell him that… except this one boy(I think).
