1. Dawn went from liking Candace to hating her so quickly.
2. Dawn seems to be in one of those magical schools where there are no students , but the teachers roam the halls to look for kids having trouble with their locks.
3. Miss Edwards had made the assumption Dawn is punching someone instead of destroying property, like one would normally do if you could not read thought balloons.
4. Dawn is not screaming in pain from kicking a metal locker with a bare leg. Ouch!
5. Dawn is going to have her own moment with Miss Edwards instead of Elizabeth.
6. Just how much that black coat changes shape from panel to panel.
So far Dawn has been moping about her head and not making any use of what is inside it. If you are not concentrating on classes, then what is the point of public school?
One thing that doesn’t jell here is, the outfit. It’s extreme and goes well with the haircut. If she hates her hair, why did she dress to draw more attention to herself?
One can deal with bad things happening. We have a lady in our seniors’ bowling league who bowls from her wheelchair. Rolls her chair up to the foul line and bowls from there. Pretty good too.
Just a reminder, it’s still “later the same day”…the haircut happened “yesterday”.
This ark would make a very nice short story book for kids that age, about how peer pressure works in a negative way. Thank goodness for teachers like Mrs. Edwards.
Speaking of “bad hair day” here’s another book that a grandparent might want to give at Christmas: Stephanie’s Ponytail by Robert Munsch. This one is about how a girl wanted to be original and the kids copied her, and she pulled a fast one one them. My kids loved it, and their kids love it too.
In my personal opinion, in a situation where a student is upset enough to be PUNCHING anything, it’s more important to start a conversation right away than to stop and think about grammar.

It doesn’t look like it’s Thanksgiving Day in Canada. More like it is a boiling mad day there.

Have had many “bad” haircuts, and the only thing that kept me sane was the fact,(thank you Lord), hair grows back.

Is that a skirt or a pair of shorts? It’s too cold for both either way

Dawn is doing like many before her have done. Blame someone else for her own mistake.

Miss Edwards is always the voice of reason.

Blaming someone else for your own poor decision is not helpful but it is punching something is cathartic. I know it’s bad form, but still, it works.

Miss Edwards usually has some pretty good advice. And even better, she listens.

Did Candice cut your hair or force you to get it cut? If not, then it’s a fair question……

A teacher (regardless of subject) should know that it’s “WHOM are you punching,” really!

The only person Dawn is beating up is herself.
