“Up the wazoo” has 11 million Google results, “out the wazoo” only 6. This troubles me. Out and up seem to be opposites in the wazoo context. “Out” would indicate an overflowing, which makes sense. “Up”, though? How would that work? “Boy, we sure have too much of this! Hey, I know where we can store the excess!”
