Having been a runner for a few decades, I knew there had to be running races called āsalmon runā. Google (and the race organizers) didnāt disappoint.
Actually NOT funny, a near extinction level of Coho salmon in the Columbia basin/Duwamish waterway due to industrial pollution, Hanford nuclear waste, and dams- even with massive fish hatcheries and trucking up river; has led to also endangering/near extinction the southern Orca pods of the Salish Sea. Northern pods and salmon along Canada/Alaskan waters are doing okay.
