I remember when we used to order stuff for xmas from a catalog in late September or early October because the disclaimer always “delivery in 6 to 8 weeks”.
It has come to my attention that California has passed some laws that make it difficult for truckers to operate now in that state. One is AB 5. This law prohibits owner operators from working in California. Good for the unions. Bad news for independents. The other has to do with the trucks that are older than 2011. They are no longer allowed. As I understand people are not buying new trucks because of laws requiring electric semi trucks that have not been built yet. If the current administration gets its way, this may soon be the law of the land. The lofty ideals of some in power may soon crush us all. Just stop for a moment and reflect on California’s forest management problems. These folks and their laws are affecting most of us on some level. And not in a good way.
Not just the West coast, I have stuff from Europe held up waiting to get through Eastern coast customs. Could be weeks I’ve been told. I need my wine & olive oil!! (privileged whine there)

Unbeliveable, Arlo got another “You’re right!” But when he went fishing for yet another he got shut down.

There is a limit to how many times a woman will admit a man is right. Apparently that limit is 1.

As long as the water, food, necessities, utilities and gas/diesel stay in good supply, we’ll be good this winter.
Inflation is going to hit, hopefully not too much.
Politics will make hay with it, unfortunately. One person can’t make it go away in a wave of a hand, hope people realize this.

Stop buying stuff, Janis. You’re creating a future nightmare for Gene.

We were just informed that our natural gas bills are going up 30%. Inflation is here to stay.

Just enjoy the holidays instead of worrying about what you are going to be able to buy

I don’t know why Arlo’s last line made me think of cultural influences. We give Japan baseball. They give us Godzilla.
