The tragedy is that heâs right â Democrats ignored the âthreat of Trumpâ in 2016 until he was almost in the white house, and they always assume âWeâre for the policies most Americans wantâ, without actually checking if thatâs true.
Fact is, Americans WANT billionaires to go tax free, Americans WANT to be the only advanced nation with no universal healthcare, Americans WANT to have workers sackable for no reason at all, and lose everything.
The nazi mindset did not disappear from Germany until after the war. Perhaps the trumper one will go away once tRump is in prison.
tRump is their central neuron. If we disconnect it by throwing this pos in prison, this stupid meta-organism may stop operating.
Thatâs half of the answer, but you need both halves. Unless you also break the programming machine, i.e. rightwing hate and disinformation media, they will just find another front man.
tRump is useful to the Mercers, the Kochs (well, the surviving one), the Putins. And he is replaceable.
From Steinbeckâs America & Americans, 1966:âExcept for the field organizers of strikes, who were pretty tough monkeys and devoted, most of the so-called Communists I met were middle-class, middle-aged people playing a game of dreams. I remember a woman in easy circumstances saying to another even more affluent: âAfter the revolution even we will have more, wonât we, dear?â Then there was another lover of proletarians who used to raise hell with Sunday picknickers on her property.âI guess the trouble was that we didnât have any self-admitted proletarians. Everyone was a temporarily embarrassed capitalist. Maybe the Communists so closely questioned by the investigation committees were a danger to America, but the ones I knewâat least they claimed to be Communistsâcouldnât have disrupted a Sunday-school picnic. Besides they were too busy fighting among themselves.â
eromlig sez: â I guess Ruben figures his audience is comprised exclusively of those with terminal TDS.â
I thought Trump Derangement Syndrome was something that one has that makes one deranged enough to support Trump. I canât see those guys finding this strip particularly insightful.
Listening to the audio of Traitor Trumpâs interview by Jonathan Karl for the book âBetrayalâ, itâs easy to see just how completely shot Traitor Trumpâs short-term memory is. Of course, we knew ahead of time that Traitor Trump wouldnât have minded the tiniest bit if the mob of traitors he incited to storm the Capitol HAD murdered Mike Penceâbecause Pence isnât Trump. We knew ahead of time that ONLY imbeciles and lunatics think the 2020 election was âstolen.â We knew ahead of time that not ONE person who is intelligent, honest, decent, worthwhile, and patriotic voted for Trump. Not ONE who is all five things. Some people are just stupid even though they are honestâeasy prey for both political and religious con artists. (Then again, thereâs the old clicheâ that âyou canât cheat an honest manââŠ..) Obviously, many of the Trump voters were his fellow racistsâbut not all! Therefore, they arenât decent, worthwhile, OR patriotic.
The only thing Ruben has wrong here is that the Republicans arenât going to run the wannabe Fascist again. Theyâre picking from the long list of competent Fascists. You can see Hawley is already touting the populist BS again that worked for the Orange Fascist.
How I wish this was just a dumb joke with no real intent on happening. I keep hearing that more republicans than ever seem to think violence is the only way to regain control of this Country. By that they mean locking out minorities from voting and keeping White people in charge of the government. I repeatedly have said as a United country weâve been a great super power but divided this nation will fall and you can say goodbye to our democracy
This makes me think about how every time someone from the Republican party says the Dems arenât working with the Reps it really means the Dems wonât do exactly what the Reps want to do. Iâve seen over the last 13 years way more refusal to work together from the red side of the aisle than from the blue, especially from their leadership.
