As a great-grandson and a grandnephew of pharmacists, the thought never occurred to me.

This is important to Pluggers isn’t it? They often have more medicines than a pharmacy! ;D

    That’s a good one. I wonder too…..

I have yogurt and oatmeal almost every day.

Next time I take antibiotics I will record my flatulence frequency as a marker of the effects.

my guess is that if we must take antibiotics, when done, then take pro-biotics.

Always talk with your doctors and pharmacists first but this is what your doctors probably use for information about medications, supplements, and a lot of information about what goes on with them.

Most, in fact a lot of it, is in pretty plain english.

It is quite likely that some antibiotics would (possibly inadvertently) act against probiotics. Probiotics may be able to replace some of the good bacteria that antibiotics destroy.

And don’t get me started about needing a bioptic to see a biopic.

I fell asleep reading about about all my medications to see if they were affected by all the herbal supplements I take.

No, the antibiotics will quickly kill the probiotic bacteria until you stop taking them. Probiotics have no medically proven effectiveness as dietary supplements. Gut bacteria are so influenced by the gut environment that added bacteria do not survive long enough to be helpful in any way, if you have a bad gut environment, even without antibiotics. If you change your gut environment by changing your diet, THEN helpful bacteria will naturally colonize your digestive tract. Probiotics are the copper bracelets of the supplement industry.
