And just how do you think you’re getting there, Ches.? I doubt you would get past the Security checkpoint.
I got my Thanksgiving chores done. A pumpkin pie with a cheesecake bottom layer, cranberry/ cherry sauce and pecan pie squares. It is the first time I’ve made the latter, and I snuck one. Boy are they good!
My SIL is doing the turkey etc., thank goodness. I love baking,, not so much all the rest.. He is a better cook than I am. And they have invited some neighbors. So there will be 8 of us. Should be fun!
Hi friends. Today I am thankful for all of you here on this forum. I am starting to feel better, not so stunned as I was. I am thankful for the almost 42 years I had with my husband. I am thankful my sister’s lung cancer is responding to radiation and immunotherapy, I am thankful my brother-in-law didn’t suffer and die from his pancreatic cancer, he went quickly and peacefully as he wanted, God was listening, I am thankful for the love of my 3 sisters, I am thankful for the years I had with my loving parents, I am thankful for my dog Gibbs and my ornery kitty Twig, (she is way worse than Chesney) they are the reason I can get out of bed in the mornings. I am thankful my mammogram was clear, 8 years out from BC, I am thankful I am vaccinated and boosted against COVID, I am thankful I can still, all most every day. finish the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink, I am thankful for this beautiful world we live in, especially the PNW! Happy Thanksgiving my friends! Blessings be upon you. XOX
Well, I went to the AT&T store on my lunch hour today and got my cellphone activated. The AT&T store is less than a mile from my Walmart, so it only took a few minutes to get there. I had to wait a while for service because all their employees were tied up with other customers. But once they got to me, it was fast and easy to activate the phone. So I was only about 7 minutes late getting back from lunch (I ate lunch before going over there, so that left me with about half an hour to go to AT&T and back to work). I sent my very first text to my sister, Mary. I would have texted my brother first since he got me the cell phone service, but I didn’t have his phone number handy. I know Mary’s phone number by heart.
Happy Thanksgiving to all you Graham Crackers south of the border. May your day be filled with hugs, turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, various sides and desserts to your hearts’ content!!!!
I’m thankful for a lot of things, too many to mention. But, at the top of the list is Brad. When we got married in 1983, only ONE person was supportive. My sister. Everyone else said it wouldn’t last because of the age difference. I’m thankful for all of the people here on TC. Everyone is kind, supportive and generous when someone loses a friend, relative or kitty. We cheer each other on for the good times.
We’ve had a great time over here this week. The weather has been gorgeous, being on the water is awesome. We’ve watched so many boats and ships come and go. Yesterday, we watched a tugboat guide in a submarine. That was pretty cool. It was close enough that we could see what the guys were wearing.
We listened to reveille and taps each day here on the base. Right now they’re playing the national anthem.
We’re heading to our friends’ house in a little while to celebrate today and her 71st birthday.
Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, I hope everyone has a good day doing what you want to do, even if it’s absolutelynothing.
They better get their health certificates together in advance. They wouldn’t be the first cats whose embezzlement scheme went awry when they were held at the border. :)
The only place Chesney is going is to the loading dock. (A long way from Alcapulco.) By the way, Happy Thanksgiving! :) On another note, saw seven golden crowned kinglets while out walking today.

Today is:
Thanksgiving. And, like last year, Walmart stores will be closed for the holiday. I’m glad. I hope we do that every year from now on.
Shopping Reminder Day
Blasè Day
National Parfait Day
National Day Of Mourning. One of our Walmart associates will be in mourning because his uncle died on Tuesday.
Turkey Free Thanksgiving. I will be going turkey free. I really don’t care much for turkey, so I’m having ham.
National Play Day With Dad.
