I used to have a Siamese cat who liked to sit out on the end of a plywood plank extending from my balcony. It was counterweighted by a potted pine tree. One day he sauntered out, but I had moved the tree for cleaning. As the plank gave way, he was fast enough to run up onto the balcony before the plank fell. That was one fast cat.

About giving extra in poetry.
There once was a man from Japan,
Whose verses would rhyme but not scan.
When his friends told him so,
He replied, “yes I know”,
But I like to put as many extra and superfluous syllables into the last line as I conceivably can.
