Sadly, many restaurants do just that. Today’s special using up less than fresh leftovers from yesterday or the day before.

Their leftovers gain flavor with every day in the frig.
Reminds me of the PAW PATROL phrase: “Why trash it when you can stash it?”
Soup is real trooper saving the pot from a’cleaning ongoing and forever.
“What’s the soup de jour?” “I don’t know but they have it every day”
Isn’t that how Wendy’s makes it’s chili, with leftover hamburger meat?

A favorite bar/restaurant of mine used to feature prime rib dinners on Sundays. I loved to have lunch there on Mondays when the special was hot open-faced sandwiches made from Sunday’s leftover prime rib.
