Cats have four legs and a great sense of balance. They donât understand the concept of tripping, or how the big can-opening apes they live with manage to do it.
The cats are under the kotatsu this morning. They are too cozy to trip you up. But if you sit down at it and put your legs underneath they will attack your toes.
It can be a form of dance. My cat rubs the outside of my leg as I pat her back. Then she passes between my legs. I turn around and she rubs the outside of my leg on the other side, as I give her a stroke. Then, she passes between my legs, again. All thatâs lacking is the docey-doe. :)
My late wife finally got the Oriental Shorthair cats she wanted a few months before her death. We were convinced that they were trying to trip us and make us fall down the stairs all of the time. One of the fears I had was that they would trip MIL who had dementia and didnât see well. Luckily they never tripped her, sadly she died last year as well. And they are still trying to trip me.

My catâs a hoot âdartingâ past at lighting speed as a walk into the room. Great entertainment for both of us!

Actually, they are rubbing their scent on you, marking you as one of their possessions.
