My mom suffered from cancer so in a way I was glad she passed.

Old people love to fuss and stew over dopey stuff. Every time I get a haircut, there’s less to cut. I should get a discount, but no. There’s an up side, I can comb my hair with a face cloth.

Earl paid too much for the haircut. When I became bald, I bought some clippers and started cutting my own hair.

I think this funk is about more than a bad haircut. He has probably been going to the same barber most of his life. Maybe one of the regulars hasn’t been seen in a while, maybe there is a new barber, something like that. I don’t see Earl caring all that much about something he can’t see unless he makes an effort to look in a mirror.
