Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
This looks familiar, Vaguely familiar, Almost unreal yet, It’s too soon to feel yet,Close to my soul, And yet so far away, I’m going to go back there, Someday..
Don’t you guys want to check out that squiggly signature on the horizon first though? Look at how majestic it is. It must be 10 stories tall! So grand…. What’s two vertical lines ever done for anyone though? Nothing but clash with the horizon. That’s what. (This message brought to you by the Signature Appreciation Society of Endtown)
They’re taking this in stride in true Wally & Co. fashion. They must mentally run through a checklist every time they get dropped into a situation.
1. Is anyone hurt? No.
2. Are we in imminent danger of destruction? No.
3. Is there anything in the immediate vicinity that’s useful? No.
4. Do we have a goal or destination in mind? The original destination was Eden Colony which doesn’t appear to be here. Next?
5. If the original goal isn’t achievable then look around and figure something out.
Will Wally think of the dittoes this time? Are they around to help him this time? A “conjured conveyance” to speed them across this empty plain would be useful. No one’s mentioned food or water yet. Anyone have a granola bar in their pocket to share?
I’ve definitely seen that horizon before. It’s a Halo installation. Well, not really, but similar. So then….some sort of circuitous space as theorized previously.
That, or it’s this: https://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2015/07/20?ct=v&cti=1621572 Which honestly feels more likely.
Remembering the line “Your end chose your beginning” from that 2015 strip……….are we about to jump back to Engineer/soldier Wally where all of his nightmare existence started?
Prior to today, there was no sense of a horizon. But now we have one, and the fountain of souls. But no souls floating by, on their way to the fountain.
And other than Marxes, all the people we have seen here were dead. (I am not counting Wally’s dream.)
But maybe Kirby, Chic and the others rescued from Eden are/will be at the fountain, waiting or frozen in time.

Dang! I was hoping for an answer by this strip. Maybe by the fourth or fifth in the future?

Maybe you wonder where you are
I don’t care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there
We’re on a road to something

maybe this is what it’s like in between the panels of the comic, and that line is the edge of the next panel

This cartoon reminds me of the line:
experience is a good thing, it helps you recognize a mistake when you make it again.
