Mars and Venus here. I don’t think they’re speaking the same language. She, I’m guessing, is not expecting an iron-clad guarantee to take a bullet so much as seeking a hyperbolic expression of passion and devotion. He, on the other hand, is afraid that she IS expecting that guarantee.
Bear in mind here that I have no idea what I’m talking about. Old guy, never been even remotely close to being married. This really is total guesswork.
Answer in the affirmative with as much gusto as you can, “Of course I would die for you my love, you’re my world, I can’t even think of living without you”. You will never be asked to do so, only asked if you would do so.
Another question that shouldn’t be asked is, “If I die before you, would you get married again?” Why even ask? After all the person will be dead and it will no longer matter.

Mild colds are called Omicron these days, after a week you are well again and nearly bullet-proof against its evil cousin Covid.
