WHAT! Giving Fred cheap food! I don’t blame you for walking away, Fred. That was not a loving or caring thing to do. If they need to cut corners maybe a few less trips to the pub should be cut, but leave Fred’s food alone.

Dog food is NOT the place to cut corners! Don’t stand for that Fred!

All I can do is look at the comments here and agree. Strongly.

Maybe it would have worked if Mrs. Dear had put it in a plate on the table. So Fred would have the chance to whip it secretly?

At one point the vet wanted to put my old doxie on a “special” diet (AKA $10/lb only from the vet). I mixed some with Rusty’s regular kibble. Rusty dumped the bowl on the floor and carefully ate the regular food, leaving the special stuff. If a doxie won’t eat it, there’s something wrong.

Yeah – been there, done that … and watched three dogs who had never missed a meal go on a 3-day hunger strike! Also, in some cases those cheaper foods have more fillers for the amount of nutrition. That basically means you’ll be cleaning up that excess sooner or later. A good-quality, nutritionally-dense food is usually a far better bargain.

You need to protest, Fred. Go pee on the carpet.

For shame, Mrs. Dear! Fred’s food is not the budget buster.

Most dogs eat better than their owners do. Mine certainly does.

Pets (cats & dogs) do not like something “new”.

An abrupt change of food can cause a dog digestive problems. So can cheap food.

There many reasons not to suddenly change to a different dog food. The result at the other end is one.
