Supposedly Steve was always planning ways to fix up their house but never got it done.

When did you FBorFW readers get your own room while living in your parents’ house? Me, I’m thinking when twelve.

A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf.

" a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction".

Elizabeth will no longer have to do her parents’ job (caring for an unhappy toddler in the middle of the night), so I’m relieved, personally!

I’ve always had my own room. The plus side of being an only child.

Anne must have been listening to that Beach Boys classic “In My Room”.

Anne, having your own room doesn’t mean you’ll have privacy from meddling parents and/or siblings.

Don’t complain, Anne. You wanted marriage, you wanted kids, you wanted that life.

Another room is usually a good investment. At least that is what I’ve been told. I think I would just put a trailer in the back yard and call it a day. …redneck, me.

I used to think that when younger, same when and still married, until hubby had his health scare 3 years ago in MICU for 4 days, I stayed at the hospital, then PT I went home to sleep had the bed to myself, and hubby back home occasionally wished I did have room to myself, instead go to living room to read when I cannot sleep. Married now 41 years.

Glad I have my own room now, because I don’t think I will have one where I’m going

I was 4. We moved from an apartment to a house. My sister and I shared for a few months when an uncle lived with us but other than that we had our own rooms.

Annie has three kids, none of whom are older than second grade;so h er life is even more hectic than Ellie’s.

And I think she said once that she enjoys being pregnant.

I think it was about when I went to college. Up to then I shared with my brother in a big upstairs room. Coming home from college on breaks and after graduation I established a bedroom in part of the basement. Privacy was a random thing.

Mike is 16. Seems like a big step when he will only be there for 2 more years.

A room of your own, Anne? Or one to lock your scuzzball husband in?

I always had a room of my own. My parents only had me and my brother and they had a four bedroom house.

As the only girl, I always had my own room. The only time I had to share was when we were having our house built and lived in a very tiny mobile home for a couple of months. Both brothers and I shared. I was 10, brother #2, 12, and brother #1 was 15.
