Saga #2… Drain Blasters Hydro Blasted and then scoped the drain pipe today. It is cast iron after all, and there are two breaks ten feet apart, in the middle of the lawn. Good news is that I had insurance money due to me from the first flood in 2020, but because of Covid I didn’t replace the floor and only did a small patch where they had to remove flooring. My agent said I can now apply that money to this problem, which means I pay only a few hundred instead of a few thousand!
And I’ve already bought the new flooring and had budgeted for that. It’s going in on Tuesday!
More uncertain news with my sister Linda. She had slurred speech around noon and after many tests and an MRI/Catscan the cause hasn’t been determined but she was back in her room a few hours later and called me sounding perfectly fine. I was already stressed over a misunderstand we had – it’s complicated I did a little thing I thought was right but it made her mad and we didn’t get a chance to talk it out. Then I get a call from my neighbors that there is a huge brush fire out of control in very windy conditions about 30 miles north of us and the next town up was evacuating,. We are probably safe from this one but with the dry brush and heavy winds it’s not a guarantee. What next?
My daughter was in a wreck late this afternoon on her way home. The car in front of her started through a green light and was T-boned in the passenger side, putting it into a spin and sliding into Sarah’s car. She was not hurt, but the woman who was in the passenger seat was unresponsive. Sarah is on code blue team at her work, called 911 immediately, and rendered first aid, mostly telling the woman’s husband to stop shaking her (she had a pulse). She had not come to before ambulance took her. Sarah stayed until police suggested she could leave as they cleared traffic. She just sent a text to say she us still ok.She is my only family now. I can’t imagine losing her.

I wouldn’t say she was standing there like a sack of potatoes, Chesney. When was the last time you saw a sack of potatoes mop the floor?

I love how Annie studiously keeps her nose in her book, while Chesney rants away.

He is such a goofball. He needs a playdate with Calvin and Hobbes.

Some proof. You want sour cream with that, Chesney? On another note, saw seven pigeons on the way home from work today.
