I purposely picked a rugged burlap-like type weave when I bought my sofa.

Garfield, is a CAT-tastrophy, artist.

The sofa is your canvas. Fortunately only the sofa.

Jon allows Garfield to shred his couch? He must have money enough to replace his furniture in this cartoon. Of course, all fantasy characters can do what reality can’t.

More likely is that Garfield was sharpening his claws.

It’s a Pablo Picasso or maybe Vincent van Gogh. Could be a Jackson Pollock. You say it’s the work of a Garfield? Who or What is a Garfield.

How much more can you destroy the couches, Garfield!?!

No matter how many scratching posts we have, the cats still like to use the purniture.

And for that art, Garf has earned an all expense paid tour of…the yard.

You are not alone in your preference. Every cat I know uses a sofa or chair for their artwork.

Imagine how Jon will react when he sees his scratched couch

That’s rather abstract.

That feline claw can sink a ship.

I fail to see how clawing a sofa could be considered art and I’ve got a great imagination.

Oh well, Jon Arbuckle is a cartoonist, he can afford a new sofa.

Yes

A very rare time when I would not be on the same page with Garfield. If he did that to my sofa, he’d be going in the water (that’s how I got a cat I had years ago to behave; he HATED water. And when he heard the shower running, he’d clean up his act. And fast).

Garfield still destroys the furniture.
