I used to love getting books from the Library. However, I stopped about 20 years ago because the books were disgusting. Food and drink spills on the pages, cigarette ashes on the pages and the worst one was someone sneezed and there was snot on the pages. That was it for me. Some people can’t respect books so I buy my books now.
I love the library! I could never afford to buy all the books I want to read and I wouldn’t have enough storage space for them. Thank God for the library!
I used to have a job where I flew to five different cities a week (field service on expensive laboratory equipment)Because of that I now have about 1000 paperback books.
my in laws were both librarians. my mother in law was a children’s librarian and my father in law was a reference librarian and eventually director of several libraries just north on NYC. He was so good, he was brought out of retirement twice to help sort out libraries that had gotten into trouble.
I took 10 back to my library yesterday and got 10 new ones for the next 10 days. I love to read, and my local branch is amazingly awesome. I am their most frequent reader.
Our local library was only 2 blocks away from our house. I checked out every Hardy Boys book. Then it was Nancy Drew. The cool this that my dad’s cousin was a big fan of Doc Savage and she gave me every book she owned. These are memories that you can never forget.
Our local library also has audio books for people whose sight isn’t the best or who want to listen to books while doing something else (walking/gardening/folding clothes/ cleaning house/you get the idea.
I have been going to our local library since elementary school and I love to read and have been an avid reader since before I went to school. I have my favorite authors I love to read and if the library didn’t get a certain book I wanted than I will go to Amazon and buy used books from other librarys around the country or from goodwill and then when I am done reading them I donated them to our local library. I have never gotten a book from the library that is in poor shape because they check them when they are returned and if they are really soiled, written in or ripped or torn out pages they don’t put them back on the shelf and since the library repopned about a year after the pandemic started they now disinfect the books when the come back and leave them off the shelf for 3 days for disinfecting to work then they go back on the shelf. My love for books is what made me get a job at the library as my first job right after graduating, it was only for the summer through the summer youth program but I loved it. I am so glad that my Mom gave me and my sister the love of reading at such a young age.

My daughter, the high school librarian (media specialist these days) enjoyed this one.

I love that I can rent books on line from our library. Checked out books I would otherwise not be able to afford. Saved me during the lockdown!!!

I love books. Reading on a iPhone or tablet just doesn’t work for me.
