Yeah. Lots of unfairness out there. Like allowing people like that to vote. And seeing to it that when you’re wise enough to enjoy yourself thoughtfully, you’re too old to do the enjoyable things as much as they deserve. (sighs)

I sometimes do a thought experiment where I am a boy/girl/whatever scout from the planet Zarg who is trying to get a merit badge in primitive “civilizations.”

So I find this planet that the locals call Earth.

My first task is to decide, from the many species, which is supposed to be the dominant one.

When you look at our society from the outside, you find how arbitrary things we hold to be self-evident truths are.

It’s not our fault that the other animals didn’t evolve properly. By the way, where did our tails go?

Yeh, but they feed you, so be grateful for that, cat.
