It is not that its nice that others have problems, but knowing that you are not alone. Others have the same problems. Some even offer sympathy even though they don’t know you from Adam.
Excellent insight from RonBerg13. You, Dan, the cats, your extended family are totally real…even Young Amanda and the insecurity monster. So relatable.
Lots of people get that “imposter syndrome” thing, where we feel like we are not really good at something. But you ARE. You may not be great at some stuff (I suck at house cleaning too), but you are a cartoonist par excellence!
I look forward to this strip every day, and it’s the first in my subscriptions list so it’s the first one I see, and it’s how my day begins so it’s always a good day when I get to read your strip. Never feel an off day is a bad thing, just feel that creating your work is a thing you’re sharing with an appreciative audience who appreciates whatever you do. You rawk and you continue to rawk.
I like hills and valleys more than the plains. Life is not often a plain, as much as we might like it to be. I do not comment on everyone of comic strips. But I do enjoy them.
Thank you for being vulnerable with us. It makes me sad that you don’t feel like you’re doing a good job, when I see you as so accomplished and funny and creative. Your comic has made me laugh on days when depression is really kicking me (when I’m down, of course), and that is such a gift in a dark time.
We all have our ups and downs. What’s great about your comic is you make us laugh about yours and ours……we just don’t have the talent to put it into a comic strip. And, as we know, laughter is the best medicine. Thank you!
Amanda, I can relate so much to your feeling inadequate. Nothing could be more opposite of the truth, but we still kick ourselves for not being “perfect.” What’s with that?? I don’t remember reading that in the manual for being human…
Having supportive readers is everything, Amanda. I know from personal experience that readers who love you unconditionally (even when you aren’t at your best) can bring you up when you are in the deepest hole imaginable. After 15 years of “Frog Applause”, I remain grateful and appreciative for every FA reader, even my haters.
Kidding! Kidding! You know that the rule of the comments section is that there will be a nasty post. I figured I’d be the one to post the nastiness, since you’d (hopefully!) know I’m being silly. :)
Your comics make people, so happy! And to see others telling you this, make me feel happy too! Happiness is the only contagious thing that won’t make you sick! ; )
You honor me… It is not often that I get mentioned in a comic strip.
Although I haven’t commented to often lately on your comic strips, I do still read them every day.
And what I said 4 years ago is still true today.
Your comic strip reflects real, everyday life in a humorous way – a way we can all relate to – and that is what attracts people to reading your strip.
So I know that I speak for everyone when I say Thank You from the deepest parts of our hearts, and we selfishly ask that you keep on drawing for along as you can.
Oh, yeah, and we all like your husband too, and all of your families.
You all interrelate to each other exactly like our families do – and that is a comfort in this modern world, knowing you’re not alone.
Your comic is one of the few where I read the comments from one to two days ago – or even further if I’m not up-to-date because life gets in the way of reading the strip in time.
And – as much I love everyone here – it’s a bonus that you comment here regularly, dearest Amanda/Mandy/Lucy.

RonBerg13 is the real deal.
Also, what’s with Nancy, PBS, and this all being about failure on the same day? Did I miss a memo?

Well, to be a off day strip, it seems pretty good to me. :-)

I agree with Piddlefart. Your comic is one of the few that has stayed in my rotation here since I joined this site. ❤
