I waited 3 months for my new headboard…and of course it was broken on one side. Slammed against a tree maybe? They told me to not send it back and they would send me a new one…sigh. better not take another 3 months.
National Hug A Plumber Day. So what? You call them and have them come over just so you can hug them? Or do you go to their place of business and start hugging them? Either way, I doubt that your hugs would be welcome.
National Zucchini Bread Day. But zucchini is out of season, so how do you make it?
St. George’s Day in the UK
Anzac Day in NZ and AUS. I have no idea what that is.
From yesterday’s comments to QOA. Joe is doing my house painting on a volunteer basis and would not accept payment even if I offered it. Sometimes, having brothers really pays off!
By the way, I have 6 brothers. There is one though, who not only will not do anything for anyone else in the family, but he expects all of us to do things for him. We still remember the time many years ago when we drove for hours to help John and his then-wife move (we actually helped him move more than once, but after the way he treated us on this occasion, we never helped him move again). We had some trouble getting there, so we were later than he expected us. But was he concerned? Did he ask what the problem was that caused the delay? No, he just yelled at us for being late. And he immediately grabbed a can of pop from our cooler, which we had brought for ourselves (we brought food, too, knowing John would not offer us anything to eat). Never mind that John had several cases of pop in his house. The only reason why we did not tell him to “kiss off” and find someone else to help him move was because our dad was with us. John’s lease was up and he had to be out that day. Our dad would not have approved of us leaving John in the lurch like that. Otherwise, we would have turned around and gone home. And to keep the long trip from being a total waste, we might have stopped someplace to play miniature golf or to go bowling or even just to eat someplace. But just for our dad’s sake, we helped John move to his new place. Did he appreciate it? No. In his view, it was our duty to do it, because “family members help each other.” We got home very late that night (past midnight). John did not offer to feed us and he did not thank us. He got mad when his wife offered us something to eat. John has never done anything for anyone else in the family and now, we won’t do anything for him, either.
This happened with a little kitten I had. I named him Napoleon, and it went to his head. (I actually named him after Napoleon Solo in The Man From UNCLE because a rerun was on TV when I got him, and he looked like Illya Kuryakin, but I didn’t want to call him Illya).
A woman dropped by with a huge dog. She said not to worry, it was very well trained and well behaved. Tiny kitten Napoleon strutted out, and she told the dog to sit and stay. She assured everyone all was well. Napoleon walked by and flipped his tail almost in the dog’s nose. The dog quivered but did not move.
When Napoleon got away with that, he came back, rose up on his tiny hind legs, rested one paw on the dog’s chest, and swatted the big dog across the nose.
I swear that poor dog was shaking, it was so miserable and really wanted to swallow that kitten in one bite, but it really was a good dog.
got a message from GC that the comments section has been fixed for it only showing the feature comment and you have to click on show all comments to see the rest, I tried it on several of my comics and yes it is fixed, Yay, way to go GC, thanks

Uh, Chesney, you’d better retreat too. Quickly. On another note, saw eight robins, a towhee, and three finches while out walking today.
