stuffed from only one waffle for breakfast? wow

Around here we call them “Melted Witches”. It’s pretty hard to beat fried bread enclosing melted cheese. Making me salivate as I type.

My personal issue used to be how to get the “witch” turned over before the cheese has melted. Now, I microwave the whole sandwich for about 15 seconds, THEN fry it (with a lid over the pan) a little hotter and not so long before I flip it.

Alternate response to Opal (as he touches himself):

“I don’t feel like a cheese sandwich.”

and maybe: “… but if you could make one for me, that would be great.”

“I really shouldn’t but…!”

She can’t hear you. She’s calling the coast guard to tow you out to sea.

Darn it, you went and made me hungry.

For toasted cheese, Earl might find the motivation to tow himself out to sea…

Here’s her chance to say “Yeah, you looked like a beached bit of blubber.” Cruel, I know.

Would a ‘’toasted cheese’’ be a cheese sandwich on toast?

Based on my childhood, I think it’s required by law to serve tomato soup with grilled/toasted cheese sandwiches. I don’t remember mom every serving the sandwich without a bowl or mug of tomato soup on the side.
