This was very disappointing, in the not-credible, even for humor, way. The worst part was “I was so worried about finishing fast…”. It doesn’t seem to match her 30 seconds comment. Maybe I’ll warm up to it if I ever feel that a child can be that out of touch. Maybe she didn’t know a “quiz” was a test? Maybe it was her first test in school?
Bully for her school if A, they still have dial clocks, and B, the clocks have second hands, in the classroom. My high school in New York state, Monroe-Woodbury, in the 1970s, had them. (they were all synchronized to the main office so it was very cool to watch the clocks do a smooth fast-forward if they had been become incorrect for any reason.) I recently visited the new gigantic replacement high school building and all the clocks were digital, and were not black on white.

Let’s hope this lesson stays with Gracie. It probably won’t because humility is not in her DNA, but one can still hope.

Better to learn this now than wait until you’re, say, 40…

This doesn’t make any sense. How could she ’forget" to give the right answers? Did she actually write down wrong answers?
