It got to 100º F, here in the Willamette Valley, in Western Oregon, on Saturday. That sort of ride would have had a lot of people lined up for such a ride.
We had another kind of water sprinkler: the kind where the water hits a paddle and oscillates back an forth. Our golden retriever would bite at the water for hours. It kept him cool (he was soaked) and hydrated and he got good exercise.
Title panel reminds me of the time I took the Greydog™ to visit the folks at Christmas many years ago. Was not able to check it as luggage, as I did not know how to wrap it, but bus was not that crowded so that the stuffed bear could sit in the next seat.
When I was a boy one of my friends had a toy called a Water-Go-Round. You connected a garden hose to it & kids sat on the seats, & when you turned on the water it started spinning around & spraying water on the riders.

I went for a spin on one of those wheels at summer camp. They called it the vomit wheel.
