If my 80-pound Great Pyrenees could do that, she would.

It seems he would be wise to set everything down before he opens the door – and wait until Wally is done before picking the bags up again.

It’s not surprising. Ralph trained the dog to do that, by responding to the jump. In essence the dog trained him… That’s a funny trope in comics. When I see all those “funny” behaviors also in Marmaduke, for example, they make me laugh out loud, too.

In real life, though, we trained our dog not to jump at people, or to lick them. Gross(!!!) Everyone, but everyone, when they came over for the first time after we got the dog, was expecting a jump and a lick, and some people even would crouch down and would want the dog to come to them. Well, no(!), not in our house. The dog would just sit there and wag her tail, but she wouldn’t budge. The only thing she expected from them was a greeting, such as “Hi, Dolly!”. After she heard that, she would go to her spot.

Surprised Oogie didn’t move in for the kill of the groceries.

The cat’s expression is exactly right for the amount of annoying noise and commotion that was just witnessed.

Here’s an idea, idiot — don’t catch the dog. Maybe he’ll learn a lesson.
