@Number Three , Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp having found a perfect job is priceless :o) my avatar again is my birth sign Leo roaring because he’s in a good mood like I am, how was your day? our Thursday should be busy as usual we have shopping to do , but we both are in a good mood , so after we finish our chores we will just stay inside the house and keep hydrated because it’s windy outside, keep safe and thanks for caring young Lady
Andy and his ‘divining rod’ will leave people foaming in his wake. He may find some pure water that people will break their kegs trying to get. But being a stout fellow he will hop to the next watering hole to see if their waters are bitter or not. Hopefully, he will note where he has been. For sometimes he barley remembers things. And he is lager ly about following orders. Since people ordering him around tend to make him foaming mad. And when he gets angry, he must be able to find the right waters to cure his ale ment.
My father-in-law used a twig shaped like a “Y” and found where to drill for water wells. He had me try & I did feel the downward pull but don’t know if there was water there.
Yesterday, someone commented on the fact that we were seeing Andy’s cap without Andy Capp. I mentioned that Buster – Son of Andy Capp – and Judge Dredd where published by the same firm and that both characters were defined by their headwear. Someone asked me whether Dredd was published by DC comics or Marvel. The answer is that Dredd was originally published in the UK by IPC then Fleetway then Egmont and now by Rebellion. Buster was originally published by Fleetway then IPC then Fleetway again and finally Egmont. The character is now owned by Rebellion and they sometimes use him in either reprints or new strips.
America’s DC comics did publish Judge Dredd for a time and also published a three-part crossover story in which their character Batman was transported into the future and teamed up with Judge Dredd. Both Batman and Judge Dredd are moody crimefighters who wear black but Dredd makes Batman seem cheerful by comparison.
Superman appeared in Buster comic for a time here in the UK. That was in the early 1960s. He was appearing in a UK comic called Radio Fun which merged with Buster in 1962 so Superman continued appearing in Buster for a few months.
I stuffed myself silly at the carvery yesterday and could barely move. I was so relieved to be able to collapse into bed. I didn’t even bother changing back into my PJ’s straight away, I just wanted to lie down and take it easy. Haha.
I got a pleasant surprise when I woke up today. Yesterday, I completed a short survey that paid 88p but there must have been an error because even though there was acknowledgement that I finished it, I got disqualified. The error must have been fixed because when I woke up I noticed I had been paid the 88p. Anything I make from the surveys goes into my PayPal on the 28th of each month. I’m technically self employed because I’m providing a service (my opinions and views) to develop products and services in the future.
Even Martin Lewis (Top Financial Advisor on TV) recommends online surveys to make a little extra money.
I’ll very possibly be at bingo tomorrow. So I’ll make even more if I win.
Stay safe, stay well, stay cool and stay happy, pal.
I’m really surprised that our readers didn’t remember that many years ago, Mr. Capp was a well-known dowser/water diviner in Hollywood, Ca. He was called Andy Devine!

Just make sure you exit the front of the pub Andy. Wouldn’t want you to find the loo.

Beer is made from water, too. Perfect.
Susan00100 over 2 years ago
But everyone KNOWS that there’s water in the canal. Why would they need a diviner??
Sanspareil over 2 years ago
Too bad it’s not a “beer” diviner!
Andy would excel at that job!

In England they get so much rain there is no need for deviners.

Divining for water takes more than forked stick or thirsty tongue or wet sot. So how’s Andy qualified?

Andy would rather be an ale diviner.

What does a water diviner do… and don’t say divines water, because I don’t know what that means.
