I actually have a crystal radio set. At least until I learn how to sell on E-Bay.

Even Gunther has lost the past.

I remember when how many transistors were in your radio was a big deal, catering to the eternal “more is better” crowd. None of whom knew what a transistor was or did.

Listening to your transistor radio at night under the covers when you were supposed to be sleeping was pretty cool.

It comes with at thing that has one end you can put in your ear, and the other end that you can’t put anywhere because it’s bent.

Back in the sixties, when most Marvel superheroes seemed to owe their origins and powers to accidents involving radiation, Stan Lee wrote many a thought balloon in which Tony Stark attributed the miraculous capabilities of his Iron Man armor to the miniaturization made possible by transistors.

There are entire YouTube channels about restoring and collecting those radios.

That’s OK, most people under 40 doesn’t either.

Back in The Olden Times, Gunther, we listened to portable transistor radios rather than being addicted as nowadays to “smart phones”….

Interesting tidbit, you can get radio just about everywhere, including the depths of a national forest.
