It is kind of hard to believe that John is the same guy who swore Michael would never drive if he didnât pay for insurance AND gas. I guess he is all talk and no memory.
At least, John apparently hasnât caught on to the fact his car interior is wet yetâŠToo caught with the rare occurrence of Mike filling his baby with gas with his own money. Wait for it â he will blow after the brief shock fades.
I remember when my big brother would borrow dadâs Impala wagon. He always brought it back with the gas gauge hovering just above Empty. Even if he was supposedly just going to run three blocks to the store.
Nothing will confuse a parent more than when a child freely and voluntarily commits a responsible act with out being asked, badgered, nagged and hounded. They are like a deer in the headlights, blinded to the irresponsible acts the child has also committed.
Dad went into shock with Mikeâs ââŠgood for a car-wash if I bought gas.â By the time Mike gets home, Dad will come down from shock and begin the ARE YOU KIDDING ME phase.
John has a thought about Michael and thinks of him as âMy sonâ rather than just his name. That says a lot about Johnâs relationship with Michael.

Not a big problem, if you dry her off quickly, and attend to the car too.

Guess Michael was too embarrassed to admit he didnât know how the windows work.

I suppose car electronics werenât too reliable in those days but now the same problem would be rare because cars are so much better
