At least in some ways, Honeymoon is following in her father’s footsteps. We often think we will never be like our parents, but it’s sometimes surprising how much we become the things we resisted when we were younger. (When was the last time we saw Trey? He still looks pretty little.)
Junior is in an unenviable position. It would kill him to lose his girl, to never see her again due to pompous arrogance. ..Or any other reason that could be prevented.
I wonder when Junior and Moon Maid took that Space Coupe for their trip, was Frank Sinatra’s rendition of “Fly Me To The Moon” being played over the intercom?
Where is the transportation coming from? Diet Smith has a left-over Space Coupe from that era or maybe the Moon Ambassador? In least the ambassador was able to keep his at Diet Smith Industries, he must have been paying some hefty storage fees.
1-JUNIOR: Hmmm. Do you think he would take Trey along too? And of course, Sparkle wouldn’t wanna be without him so she’d have to go too.
2-DT: Wait – I’m thinking… SURE! Why not? SPARKLE: WHAT THE… JUNIOR: Now honey, hush…
3-JUNIOR: I’ll be sending good thoughts to the moon just for the 3 of you every night. I think I’ll even find someone to help me with that effort… heh heh…
I like Mysta with the platinum hair bettery than the yellow blonde. There are too many yellow blondes in the strip—Mysta, Tess, Sparkle, Bonnie Braids, Honeymoon (whose hair used to be platinum). Lizz was originally a blonde but Gould changed her hair when she became a regular character because of so many blondes in the cast.
I am enjoying the flashbacks, good to see Moon Maid lookin’ like she did in the 60’s. I wish Cutris had done a whole week of flashbacks for new readers who were to young to enjoy this exciting storyline. Love Moon Maid, always have, always will.
Junior is reluctant, but consents to Honeymoon going, in hopes that she will learn more of her heritage. Sparkle looks rather more dubious, but voices no objections (so far).
It does seem overly sanguine of Tracy to believe that he (and Mysta, the more powerful of the two under these circumstances) can defend Honeymoon against Ambassador, should the need arise. But it’s all in the family, and therein I believe Tracy finds his strength!

How old Junior looks in the first panel. Still a sprightly nonagenarian, though

Junior’s still so disrespectful to his dad even after all these years, calling him by his last name.

Are we getting a moon story because it’s an anniversary of the first story or something?
Or just something Mike thought of?

Shouldn’t Junior have called his daughter Honeymoon? Has she ever been called just Honey before?
I know it can’t be a mistake by team Tracy because they never make any!!!

Junior’s worry makes him look older than I’ve ever seen him.

I hope Tracy takes proper precautions before his trip.

Some horrible seed was planted that day.ANd it grew..and grew..and grew.
Finally, the entire population of the moon had to flee for their lives!!

It’s cool to see Junior expressing his thoughts here like this! And while it’s not exactly turnabout… turnabout is fair play!
