That’s odd. Whenever I forgive somebody, I still feel like I was wronged.

He might actually be good at it.

Forgive & forget — in that order. How could you forgive someone if you didn’t remember what they did? Saying “How can I forgive him when I can’t forget what he’s done” is bogus.

Forgiveness? Then what about justice? Who needs laws and orders then? Let’s everyone do wrong and then let us be forgived.

I knew someone who put that in their obit. “Joe forgave all those who wronged him”, or something like that. What an ego!

Forgiveness is not the denial of reality. It’s wishing good things for the person or persons who wronged you, in spite of what was done. When you can do it genuinely, it is the greatest gift you can give yourself.

To be honest, when I started my recovery journey, that was the way I felt; “When do we get to the step where people apologize to me for messing up my life.”

Fortunately I have stuck around recovery long enough to start to learn what true recovery is.

If you think you have an issue where you need help, or if you think you life is going in the wrong direction, I encourage you to seek out help. There are lots of good programs out there (yes and some bad ones as well), so look into your options; after all you have to lose is what you don’t really want in your life.
